Winona Ryder to be Vulcanized for 'Star Trek'

Winona Ryder will board the J.J. Abrams helmed Star Trek, playing the Vulcan mother of a young Spock (Zachary Quinto), reports Variety. Leonard Nimoy will be around in some capacity, but the story – involving a Romulan time-traveling assassination scheme and some early-day tales of Capt. Kirk and company, may remain Shatner-less.

Yet another indication that the film is doomed. Spock’s mother is not Vulcan, she’s from Earth. If they can’t even get that right, the film has no future at all.

Mr Zee, you are obviously not a Star Trek fan. Amanda is human…human…..HUMAN!!!! Spocks father, Sarek, is a vulcan. Spock is half human and half vulcan.

Variety needs to be slapped, too.

PS- That’s a fabulous picture of Wynona, though!!!

Hey, wait a minute… Mr Zee either didn’t read the article, or Variety corrected the human error after Mr Zee posted his bit….hmmm.
