Illegal LA

While it’s clear where they stand from the selection of statistics they present,  VBS produced this otherwise even-handed web doc (an eight part series) about one of the hot button issues of the campaign season: illegal immigration. With conscious editing decisions that steer clear of most “gotcha” sound bites, equal time is given to “Minutemen” founder Jim Gilchrist, former Crip gang leader turned anti-immigration activist Walter Wheeler, and Dov Charney (celebrated by some, demonized by others), CEO of American Apparel.  Maybe the most interesting choice of representatives to speak on the issues are the young Los Angeles skaters – children of undocumented immigrants, trying to make the most of  their status in-limbo.

    Ted Kennedy was a great institution whtiin a great institution. He was neither a genius nor a saint, but rather living proof one determined man can make a difference, especially in behalf of others.I think as time went on, he felt more of a responsibility to make a difference in behalf of his brothers, who lost their lives in public service.I hope some bright, promising young senator will be inspired by Kennedy’s example and take up where he left off. I think Ted Kennedy would like for that living, fighting presence to be part of his legacy.

    often at key times”For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause edrenus, the hope still lives and the dream shall never die.” How do we remember Teddy Kennedy the last of the Kennedy men? His Irishness? His Compassion? His sense of Humor? His senate long fight for health care? His devotion to the common man? We will miss him, the lion is gone. I do not see another right now. For now at our loss the role will go unfilled!

    Свойство widnow.innerWidth не поддерживается устаревшими версиями Internet Explorer (8 и более ранние). Один из возможных вариантов решения проблемы:width = widnow.innerWidth || document.documentElement.clientWidth;
